Periódico de crítica colombiana
El Periódico de Crítica Colombiana es un nuevo proyecto que intenta llenar -y abrir- un vacío en los espacios de opinión escrita sobre la producción de arte en Colombia. Nuestro principal objetivo es permitir la circulación de diferentes miradas, aportes y acercamientos a la crítica de arte en el contexto local; permitiendo la participación de múltiples voces del medio: artistas, galeristas, coleccionistas, público, curadores y demás agentes, están invitados a colaborar. Participar en el PCC implica entender que un texto crítico es una opinión estructurada, un juicio -pero no de valor- argumentado sobre un tema específico de la producción artística local. El PCC cuenta con dos frentes de publicación: un periódico impreso de carácter bimestral que será distribuido en Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla y otras ciudades del país; y una plataforma web de constante actualización donde serán publicados artículos adicionales a la versión impresa.
La intención del PCC no es ser únicamente una publicación de expertos, no buscamos necesariamente conservar el tono de la crítica tradicional. Quisiéramos ser un medio donde se recupere la espontaneidad de los momentos de encuentro que se dan en las reuniones y fiestas donde departen diferentes actores del medio. El periódico intentará tener un espíritu libre, que permita que las voces del campo del arte local se expresen a gusto y claro, bajo su propia responsabilidad.
Quien participe en el PCC decide sobre qué quiere hablar, puede ser personal o institucional. Puede ser sobre la generalidad del campo o sobre un caso particular. Puede ser sobre una obra o sobre un artista, o sobre los artistas. O sobre el arte... o sobre las instituciones. El estilo y la forma son libres, como cuando se habla de “las cosas del arte”, “de arte”, “de artistas”, en exposiciones, en ferias, y fiestas; cuando se dicen muchas verdades y las opiniones son honestas -por lo general- y hay controversias y hay discusiones. La idea es rescatar esos momentos cándidos y lucidos, ponerlos en un texto corto y a disposición del público.

El Periódico de Crítica Colombiana is a new project that seeks to fill -and open- a void in the spaces of written opinion on art production in Colombia. Our main objective is to allow the circulation of different views, contributions and approaches to art criticism in the local context; allowing the participation of multiple voices of the medium: artists, gallery owners, collectors, public, curators and other agents are invited to collaborate. Participating in the PCC implies understanding that a critical text is a structured opinion, a judgment -but not a value judgment- argued on a specific topic of local artistic production. The PCC has two publication fronts: a bimonthly printed newspaper that will be distributed in Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla and other cities in the country; and a constantly updated web platform where additional articles to the printed version will be published.
The intention of the PCC is not only to be a publication of experts, we do not necessarily seek to preserve the tone of traditional criticism. We would like to be a medium that recovers the spontaneity of the moments of encounter that occur at meetings and parties where different actors of the medium meet. The newspaper will try to have a free spirit, allowing the voices of the local art field to express themselves at ease and of course, under their own responsibility.
Whoever participates in the PCC decides what he/she wants to talk about, it can be personal or institutional. It can be about the generality of the field or about a particular case. It can be about a work or about an artist, or about artists. Or about art... or about institutions. The style and the form are free, as when we talk about "the things of art", "about art", "about artists", in exhibitions, in fairs, and parties; when many truths are told and opinions are honest -usually- and there are controversies and there are discussions. The idea is to rescue those candid and lucid moments, put them in a short text and make them available to the public.
