Encoded Portraits [2014]

Encoded Portraits is a system for production of commissioned portraits. The image of the portraited person is encoded in an abstract tridimensional wooden object that do not have a direct relation to the physical appearance of the individual. The encoding procedure uses the data of a photographic image to modify the shifts of the shape of the object. To decode the wooden portrait is necessary to scan it with a custom decoder developed for the project that present the decoded image in a video projection.
